Tameside Hospital discharged 12 people who had tested POSITIVE for Covid-19 into care homes

A DOZEN patients were discharged from Tameside Hospital into care homes after testing POSITIVE for coronavirus during the first wave of of the pandemic, it's been revealed.A Freedom of Information request to the Tameside Foundation Trust revealed that between March 1 and April 15 this year,  117 elderly people were sent back from the hospital into care homes.Of these, 40 people were tested for Covid-19 before being released.But 77 patients were allowed to return to care homes without being tested for the virus.And 12 patients who tested positive for coronavirus were also discharged back into care facilities.

This was ten pc of all discharges during the six weeks.Hospital bosses say they followed 'national guidance throughout'.The government.
