It comes after around 16,000 lab-confirmed positive Covid-19 cases were added to the weekend's daily total due to a fault.On Sunday, it was reported that there had been 22,961 positive cases, however, 15,841 of those were actually recorded between September 25 and October 2 but not included on previous days because of a technical issue.Speaking in the House of Commons on Monday afternoon, the health secretary said: "This was due to a failure in the automated transfer files from the labs to PHE's data system."He then admitted that just 51 per cent of those cases, as of 9am today (Monday), have been contacted for a second time for contact tracing purposes.Shadow health secretary Mr Ashworth said problems.
