But takeaway joints will be allowed to serve food inside venues past the 10pm cut-off - as long as diners wear a mask and don't sit in.

It comes as Nicola Sturgeon announced new restrictions in response to a spike in infections, which saw a record 486 new cases of the deadly virus over a 24-hour period.
