Liam Gallagher responds to thousands of Oasis tickets being cancelled, speaks out on chances of special guests joining band on stage
Liam Gallagher has issued a response following thousands of tickets to the Oasis reunion shows being cancelled by Ticketmaster, and addressed whether the band will invite any special guests on stage with them.It comes after this past weekend saw Ticketmaster cancel thousands of tickets to the much-anticipated reunion shows taking place this summer, in a new crackdown on bots and touts. The tickets for UK shows went on sale back in August, however, despite efforts to prevent touts from re-selling them at inflated prices, roughly 50,000 tickets ended up on resale sites. In response, promoters Live Nation and SJM confirmed that all tickets sold via secondary ticketing sites other than Twickets would be cancelled and made available again through Ticketmaster at face value. However, the process has gone far from smoothly, with numerous fans taking to social media over the weekend to claim that they have had their tickets wrongfully cancelled after they bought them legitimately. Now, Liam Gallagher has addressed the tumultuous circumstances around the crackdown on tickets and said that there is little he can do to help.He took to X/Twitter this morning to respond to a fan who reached out and asked: “Liam what do you think of the ticket situation? Thinking fans are bots and getting their money returned?”Responding, the Britpop icon wrote: “I don’t make the rules.

Father John Misty reacts to Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl performance on 10th anniversary of ‘I Love You, Honeybear’
Father John Misty has reacted to Kendrick Lamar‘s Super Bowl performance falling on the 10th anniversary of ‘I Love You, Honeybear’.The former Fleet Foxes musician, real name Josh Tillman, released the record in 2015, with NME calling it a “hugely ambitious, caustically funny album about the redemptive possibilities of love, and being heartily sick of your own bullshit”.Ahead of its official anniversary yesterday (February 9), Misty announced a remastered reissue, which is set to arrive on Valentine’s Day (February 14). His more playful way to mark the occasion was to reignite a longstanding light-hearted beef with Lamar, whose previous releases have often coincided with his.Responding to a tweet marking the 10th anniversary of his album, he wrote: “Had to do his super bowl performance today of all days nice,” in a nod to the ‘Not Like Us‘ rapper’s history-making performance.had to do his super bowl performance today of all days nice https://t.co/LtBZw5sPg6— Father John Misty (@fatherjohnmisty) February 9, 2025Back in November, the ‘Let The Light In’ musician went as far as sharing a Kendrick “diss track” after the rapper surprise-released his new album ‘GNX’ the same day as he dropped his new album ‘Mahashmashana’.The Compton rapper posted a link to the album on his social media pages on November 22, inadvertently coinciding with the release of ‘Mahashmashana’, which he later joked about, writing on X/Twitter: “I’m furiously scribbling my seeming response”.The response arrived in the form of a new song shared on Instagram called ‘God’s Trash’, posted alongside artwork parodying covers for Lamar’s recent diss tracks towards Drake from their highly publicised feud last summer.

Watch Lola Young cover Arctic Monkeys’ ‘I Wanna Be Yours’ on SiriusXM
Lola Young has covered Arctic Monkeys’ ‘I Wanna Be Yours’ during an appearance on SiriusXM – check out her version below. The former NME Cover Star performed the 2013 AM track – itself a cover of a John Cooper Clarke poem – during a stop at the Alt Nation studio, reimaging the song as more piano-led and jazz-infused.Her session follows a string of performances and covers of late, including her recent American TV debut on The Tonight Show, as well as a cover of The Cure’s ‘Close To Me’ for an Australian session. The SiriusXM set also saw the emerging singer perform a stripped-back version of her runaway hit ‘Messy’ from her 2024 album ‘This Wasn’t Meant for You Anyway’, as well as her 2024 single ‘Conceited’.Check out both live performances of the songs below.A post shared by SiriusXM (@siriusxm)Last summer, Young’s debut album was given a glowing five-star review from NME, where it was described as “the most distinctive and daring realisation of her experimental tendencies yet”.“Young’s first full-length album moves with an auteur-like touch to its production; opulent soul set pieces stand tall next to raw, scratchy indie tunes, all of which see the south Londoner face desire in its many complications. It’s a collection that feels equally empowered and tormented,” it read.“Though Young’s specific type of yearning and bluntness may be indebted to SZA, she possesses the genuine star power to further develop an already strong artistic identity.
