A suspected drink driver collided with a traffic signpost - leaving their car in a bizarre state. Police were called to reports of the crash at around 11pm last night (November 7).

When they arrived at the scene in Salford, they found the Peugeot half-suspended in the air after crashing into the neon signpost. READ MORE: Thugs burst into 78-year-old woman's home, pin her down and rip jewellery from her neck It is understood that no pedestrians were nearby at the time.

Crews from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service attended and assisted with making the area safe. The driver of the Peugeot was arrested, and following a roadside breath test, they provided a positive result of 83 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.
