Premier League great Stewart Downing hung up his boots this summer after an impressive career with teams such as Middlesbrough, Aston Villa and Liverpool.The midfielder also made 35 appearances for England after initially being called up in 2005, and was part of two international tournaments with his country.
Although Downing had a career spanning 20 years, football wasn't the only passion he had as the midfielder was also an aspiring DJ.Downing enjoyed being behind the decks during his time at Middlesbrough, and would often play sets for friends and team-mates.
But the midfielder once took his talents to Ibiza, where he performed a surprise set in a nightclub for "thousands of revellers".Downing admitted his surprise Ibiza experience in an interview with Ladbrokes at its launch of their 5-A-Side bet on England v Switzerland, and the former midfielder revealed: "I've always liked DJing, and I've been known to play a few sets during my time at Middlesbrough."But my biggest claim to fame on that front was far from Teesside.
I DJed in Eden, the nightclub in Ibiza once. No one will have known about it; it wasn't like I was on the flyer or anything."It was just that some of my mates were playing there, and I knew the lad who was running the night.
