Steve Clarke felt the back-three acquitted themselves well against Israel, but admitted there were things to be learned from the Nations League draw.
The home side went in front at Hampden through Ryan Christie's penalty in the final minute of the first-half, but a 73rd-minute strike from Eran Zahavi meant Clarke had to settle for a 1-1 draw.
Scotland created few chances on a frustrating night, and are now two points behind the Czech Republic in Group M of the Nations League.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Clarke said: "Reasonably pleased. Obviously, slight tweak to the system and only three days' training to work on it."I think the lads took a lot on board.
