It means that many will have to find other sources of income to fill the gap. With a third of the year still to go, we have now reached the point in 2021 when the average retired pensioner couple will have already spent income equivalent to two full annual State Pensions.
This marks the arrival of State Pension Shortfall Day, according to analysis by retirement specialist Just Group, WalesOnline reports.
