Spitfires and a Hurricane took to the skies to mark 75 years since the end of World War 2. Three spitfires, a hurricane and a Lancaster bomber roared over the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire as the Prime Minister and Prince Charles led tributes to veterans this morning.

The Red Arrows also conducted a Victory Over Japan Day (VJ Day) flypast over Glasgow Prestwick Airport today, although a flight above Edinburgh was axed due to poor weather.
