Retailer SPAR has come under fire for marking-up the price of hand soap amid the national health crisis. Following the outbreak of coronavirus, high street shops and supermarkets have reported shortages of products including hand sanitser, toilet roll and soap.

But Manchester shoppers were quick to call out the Princess Street branch for increasing the price of Carex antibacterial hand soap.

A photograph of the shelf display - currently circulating on Twitter - shows Carex 'special £1 offer' Aloe Vera hand soap being sold for almost double the advertised price.
