Dear Richard Madeley: ‘My girlfriend has been lying to me about her address’
— Mark, via emailI’m going to be as direct with you as I hope I am with everyone who writes to me – otherwise what’s the point of our correspondence? And I have to say that your letter set off the full set of alarm bells, flashing red lights and sirens. Why did this woman conceal her change of address from you? Especially when she must have known, from her regular visits back to pick up her post, that you were sending gifts and flowers to her? Why not give you her cousin’s address so you could send things there? At the very least it was inconsiderate; sadly, I think it’s suspicious. You ask: ‘If she has been lying to me about this, then what else?’ It’s a fair question, Mark. People who lie about their address are usually concealing other things.
