Nicola Sturgeon's Brexit minister is standing down at the next Holyrood election. Veteran SNP politician Michael Russell has been in a range of prominent roles since the party came to power in 2007.
He served as a minister for the environment, culture, and education before taking on the task of representing the SNP administration in Brexit talks.
That effectively ended this year when the UK Government over-ruled demands and took Scotland out of Europe with the rest of Britain.
