Ayrshire is set to be hit by a snow storm later this week, according to forecasters.The Met Office has predicted that the region will experience snow and icy conditions late on Thursday night and into Friday morning.Boffins say the weather front could leave dangerous icy patches and a yellow weather warning has been issued ahead of the weekend.Across the region, temperatures are expected to plummet to as low as -1C during certain periods of the day between now and Friday.The Met Office warning reads: "Frequent wintry showers arriving from the west overnight Thursday into Friday are likely to lead to a fresh covering of snow for areas above 200m (mainly around 2-5 cm, possibly as much as 10 cm over highest ground where showers are most
