Sir Alex Ferguson has paid tribute to late great Walter Smith following this passing at the age of 73 - stating that his fellow Scot was a special person who will be sorely missed.Best known for his two spells at Rangers during which the club won 10 Scottish Premiership titles as well as 11 domestic cups, Smith also managed Everton and Scotland.Between his spells with the Toffees and the national side in 2004, Smith was invited to take up a hands-on role at Manchester United by Ferguson following the departure of Carlos Queiroz.Ferguson had previously worked with Smith during his time as Scotland boss, and has sent his condolences to the Smith family while describing his own pain."I am absolutely devastated," said Sir Alex told the United.
