Simon Cowell in emotional tribute to Jamal Edwards after his shocking death aged 31

SIMON Cowell has posted an emotional tribute to late music industry figure Jamal Edwards. The 31-year-old - whose mum is Loose Women star Brenda - passed away on Sunday morning after his final DJ set at a bar the night before.

Writing on Twitter tonight, Simon, 62, said: "I had the pleasure of meeting @jamaledwards. "He was an extraordinarily talented young man, so ambitious, a real entrepreneur and had a natural gift for talent. "I was so very sorry to hear about his passing.

I’m sending my love to his family. Rest in peace, Jamal. Much love, Simon." Loose Women star Brenda, 52, confirmed the sad news yesterday saying:  “It is with the deepest heartache that I confirm that my beautiful son Jamal Edwards passed away yesterday morning after a sudden illness.
