Simon Phillip Cowell (born 7 October 1959) is an English television personality, businessman and record executive. He has judged on the British television talent competition series Pop Idol (2001–2003), The X Factor (2004–2010, 2014–present) and Britain's Got Talent (2007–present), and the American television talent competition series American Idol (2002–2010), The X Factor (2011–2013), and America's Got Talent (2016–present). Britain's Got Talent judge Simon Cowell halted a mother and daughter audition tonight as they belted out a Waitress song together on the stage.

Honey, 14, and Sammy, 43, revealed she had been diagnosed with cancer, but had beaten it, as the teen said: "In the past couple of years my mum got diagnosed with cancer. "It has been a tough couple of years and to be here with my mum is the best thing that has happened to me.

I never thought when me and my mum would be singing in the car that it would bring us to this stage." Telling them that he didn't like the song, he asked them to learn a new one and come back and try again later.
