Louis Tomlinson has quit Simon Cowell's record label. The former One Direction star took to Twitter to reveal he'd parted ways with Syco Music.

It comes a whole 10 years after he rose to fame on X Factor and signed a record deal with the label. He continued to work with them when he went solo following the band's indefinite hiatus in 2016.

But now, the professional relationship is over. He posted on Twitter: "Hope everyone is doing ok! Just wanted to let you know that Syco Music and I have agreed to part ways. "I'm really excited for the future and to be back in the studio writing the next album.

Can't wait to finally see you all on tour!! Stay safe and see you soon, Louis x" Fans were excited by the prospect of new music.
