Get the stories that interest you straight to your inbox every day with our personalised newsletterA cockatiel bird has been found a long way from home after he took refuge on a shocked fisherman’s boat.The Scottish SPCA have now issued an appeal to find the owner after the stranded bird landed on the boat out at sea near Troon on Friday (September 18).The boat was around 10 miles from the shore so the bird- dubbed HeiHei after the character in the movie Moana- was a long way from land.The cockatiel is in good health and is now in the care of the Scottish SPCA’s Ayrshire Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre.Scottish SPCA animal rescue officer, Sheena MacTaggart, said: “This was a very unusual rescue; I’ve never been contacted about a bird.
