Scots mum of disabled boy batting rare condition in bid for life-changing wheelchair

Scots boy battling a rare condition has launched a bid to help him enjoy the beach like other kids his age. Leon McCarrell, 11, suffers from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a disease which causes muscles to weaken at a quick rate.He has been confined to a wheelchair since he was three and has been unable to enjoy some activities kids his age do.That includes going to the beach on a hot day and enjoying the water.

His mum, Stacey Cummings, 34, from Ayr, wants to make the life-changing purchase and buy an all-terrain beach sand cruiser wheelchair.
