EU Nationals and French residents will also be exempt from the rules. Anyone able to enter France will have to take a Covid test before departure and quarantine for seven days on their arrival in the country.
UK Foreign Office officials said that the new rules apply for anyone arriving in France by air, car, ferry and train. The move comes amid concerns over the so-called Indian variant of the virus, which has risen in numbers across the UK.
