poverty wages paid to Scots struggling with an economic crisis has been exposed in a damning report. Citizens Advice Scotland raised serious concerns for personal finances as they demanded quick progress to a higher rate of statutory minimum pay and improved conditions for low-paid workers.
On top of existing problems, the charity said the last few months disrupted the economy to an “almost unrecognisable extent”.
Advisers have been swamped by calls for help on pay, redundancy, rent arrears and loan debts - all problems expected to get worse when government wage protection ends.In a dossier seen by the Record, the advice charity revealed:All of the examples affected people in their 60s.
