Sadio Mane made a special request to Liverpool after returning from the African Cup of Nations.Mane and Senegal prevailed when they went head-to-head with Salah’s Egypt in the AFCON final earlier this month. The club team-mates also meet again next month in a crucial World Cup qualifying playoff. So you could be forgiven for thinking that tensions between the two players are high, especially in light of a couple of on field spats. However Canal Football Club has reported that Mane asked Liverpool not to make any reference of his or Senegal’s AFCON triumph in Liverpool's first home game since the final as they welcomed Norwich to Anfield.Mane made the request out of respect to his team-mate Salah, who is still hurting after Egypt’s defeat. The final itself was a drab affair, but it was brought to life by the rivalry between the Liverpool duo.Mane dramatically scored the decisive penalty in the shoot out - after missing a spot kick in normal time - to clinch Senegal’s first ever AFCON title. The Senegalese hitman’s winning penalty also denied Salah the opportunity to take one, as he was due to take Egypt’s fifth spot kick. Can Mo Salah and Sadio Mane fire Liverpool to Premier League glory this season?
