RTÉ has said that new scripts of Fair City are currently being written amid claims that the Irish soap has been cancelled. Due to the lockdown, the show stopped airing episodes earlier this month.
Since then there has been speculation that there may not be any more episodes of the show. However, it looks like that is far from the truth.
A spokesperson told Extra.ie that new scripts are currently being written and the show will continue production when the restrictions are lifted.
The confirmation that the show will return comes after RTE began airing Fair City only on Sundays and Thursdays to provide viewers with entertainment for as long as possible until production came to a halt.
