Ronnie O'Sullivan has claimed that his mental health, along with that of a number of his fellow professionals, has been negatively affected by the turmoils of playing at the highest level.
The Rocket has decided against competing at this year's Snooker Shootout, instead opting to pick and choose his events in order to maintain a strong mental outlook.
O'Sullivan's battle with depression has been well-documented in recent years, with the 45-year-old revealing in 2017 that he was forced to spend five days in hospital after a breakdown during the previous year's World Championship campaign.
