ROBBIE Williams is part of a syndicate hoping to buy what may become the most pricey Banksy. Art fan Robbie, 46, is targeting Show Me the Monet, which is expected to sell for up to £10million at auction.

It is a pastiche of Monet’s The Water-Lily Pond from 1899 — with dumped shopping trollies and traffic cones beneath a bridge.

Singer Robbie collects contemporary works and owns some by elusive street artist Banksy. A source said: “Robbie knows art’s a safe investment. “He’s a major player in a syndicate of enthusiasts who are understood to be keen on it. “It could easily break the record for a Banksy.” The current Banksy record is for Devolved Parliament, depicting MPs as chimps, which sold for £9.5million last year.
