Ricky Gervais
Ricky Dene Gervais (born 25 June 1961) is an English stand-up comedian, actor, writer, film producer, director and musician. He is perhaps best known for creating, writing and acting in the British television series The Office (2001–2003). He has won seven BAFTA Awards, five British Comedy Awards, two Emmy Awards, three Golden Globe Awards and the Rose d'Or twice (2006 and 2019), as well as a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination. In 2007, he was placed at No. 11 on Channel 4's 100 Greatest Stand-Ups and at No. 3 on the updated 2010 list. In 2010, he was named on the Time 100 list of the world's most influential people.

RICKY Gervais turned down the chance to do the first stand-up show in space — because he was too scared. The comedian and actor was invited to perform a set on one of the first commercial trips, but said he would not want to “risk it”.

Ricky, 59, who created Netflix comedy After Life, called the prospect “mad” and insisted: “I’m careful crossing the road.” He said: “I was offered one of these things where you go up into space for 15 minutes. “It was like a group of billionaires and they offered me the chance to be the first comedian to do a stand-up show in space. "I went, ‘No.

I’m not going to risk it’.” The Office creator Ricky joked that passengers would have better things to do than listen to him telling gags after forking out a fortune.
