She and Grant were married for 35 years. Grant has a daughter Olivia, 39, with Joan and a stepson, Tom. Happily, other people of note also rallied around during her illness.
Oscar-nominated Grant said that his pal Nigella Lawson sent food round in a cab every Sunday and Gabriel Byrne, who he starred alongside in Wah-Wah would come and visit their Cotswolds cottage and “chat for hours”.
Even Melissa McCarthy offered her support, both in text and in person, with the actor calling her a “five-star treat”. Fans far and wide offered their condolences at the time.
