Revellers hit bars and pubs before new 'rule of six' comes into force next week

Drinkers flocked to bars and pubs across Britain tonight before new coronavirus restrictions are introduced next week. Beer gardens and restaurants in Manchester, London and Nottingham looked busy on Friday as revellers enjoyed their night out.

People were seen having a meal at restaurants across the country or enjoying a pint with their friends. Under current rules, you can meet with up to 30 people from two households in public, however this is set to fall to just six from Monday after the government introduced new restrictions.

Each person from the group of six can be from separate households, but the rules apply both indoors and outdoors, with some exemptions.
