A three Michelin-star restaurant has taken the “creepy” decision to seat mannequins at empty tables in order to make a point about social distancing.
The Inn at Little Washington is set to reopen its doors on May 29, according to a spokesman for the restaurant. But, when it does, customers will find themselves sitting close to lifeless mannequins – adding a dark twist to the dining experience.
They will be posed as couples and dressed in 1940s' style in order to capture the mood of a post-WW2 celebration. The establishment’s owner, Patrick O'Connell told CNN they would also be used to maintain social distancing between guests.
