When the Premier League returns, the race for the league title will scarcely resemble a race at all, such is Liverpool's command on top spot.
Certainly the dash for European football will be more interesting. There have been few guarantees offered up thus far, other than Manchester City finishing in the top four, although European action at the Etihad in 2020-21 is far from a certainty.
But there are perhaps seven other sides with realistic aspirations of continental action next term, be it in the Champions League or the Europa League.
At the other end there is the battle of desperation, as clubs scramble to stay 17th or above and thus avoid the drop into the Championship.
