A Tory under-secretary was accused of falling for a "fantasy figure" during a fiery Question Time debate on the levels of coronavirus testing in the UK - before he U-turned.

Business junior minister Nadhim Zahawi was called out by programme host Fiona Bruce after quoting a number almost three times higher than official Government estimates.

It came as Labour's health shadow secretary Jonathan Ashworth said further severe restrictions and a potential second wave will be down to the "shambles" of test and tracing.
