Queen will not strip Prince Andrew of his remaining titles despite mounting pressure, according to royal sources. The monarch, 96, will continue to stand by her son and "certainly will not" force him to give up the Duke of York title that she gave him more than three decades ago.It comes after councillors voted to remove his 'Freedom of the city of York' honorary position this week, which he received in 1987.Labour MP for York Central Rachael Maskell previously confirmed that she had met with Commons officials to see whether there was a way to make Andrew step down from his Duke title. In February, the move gathered momentum after the royal’s £12million out-of-court settlement Virginia Giuffre, who sensationally accused the royal of sexually assaulting her when she was 17 in 2001.Andrew has denied all allegations made against him related to the Virginia Giuffre case, reports The Mirror.
