It may only be September, but thoughts are already turning to the big day - Christmas. And there is one debate which never fails to polarise opinion - just when should you put your festive decorations up?
There are few things which will anger your neighbours more than if you get the lights, fake snow and tinsel out too early in the year, or even anytime before December 1.
But it turns out that, despite the Scrooge-like naysayers, those who embrace the festive fun could be reaping the benefits. Experts say people who put their decorations up early are happier and more relaxed.
Steve McKeown, psychoanalyst and owner of The McKeown Clinic, told Unilad that early decorators are motivated by nostalgia.
