dailystar.co.ukPSG have hailed nursing staff fighting the battle against the coronavirus after being crowned Ligue 1 champions. France canceled the football season amid the continued spread of Covid-19.
And it was decided that the title would be awarded to Thomas Tuchel’s PSG, who sat top of the table when the campaign was suspended.
They were 12 points clear of second-placed Marseille when the season was called off. Marseille officially finish second and will return to the Champions League for the first time since 2013/14.
Relegation has also been confirmed with Amiens and Toulouse sent down to Ligue 2 while FC Lorient will be promoted as champions of the second tier.
