Mbappe has been heavily linked with a move away from the Parc des Princes this summer, with Real and Premier League giants Liverpool tipped to sign him.
But it appears the World Cup winning youngster was edging closer to the former, based on claims from ex-France winger Rothen.
The 42-year-old, who like Mbappe played for Monaco before joining PSG, insists that Mbappe was very close to a huge switch to Los Blancos.
