He tried to get his colleagues to "stick to the story" and that he would "owe them" if they backed up his account.Kerrison "concocted a story" that he had trapped his hand in a gate when he was responding to an alarm, and denied any knowledge of the assault, and how the bleeding started.After continuing to give false stories, including lying to two senior officers, Kerrison finally admitted assaulting the prisoner, causing actual bodily harm, on June 16 last year.
