prison guard who allegedly helped her murderer lover escape and led police on a major manhunt has taken her own life after the pair were captured.Vicky White, 56, and her 6ft 9in supposed toyboy Casey White, 38 (not related), were tracked down on Monday afternoon (May 9) after a tip off from a civilian.It came after Casey was spotted at a car wash in Evansville, Indiana, USA last Tuesday (May 3).Police in Evansville tracked a 2006 Ford F-150 that they were driving after they were located at a hotel.
The pair apparently bolted into a nearby cornfield and were surrounded by cops. Lauderdale County Sheriff Rick Singleton said that Vicky shot herself after their pickup truck was rammed by police and said he hoped she survived.She did not and was declared dead just after 7pm (local time).
Casey surrendered and has now been taken into custody, with Sheriff Singleton saying: "He’s not getting out of this jail again."Vicky, the assistant director of Lauderdale County jail in Alabama, is accused of helping Casey escape on April 29, the day of her retirement.She told colleagues she was taking the 18st convicted felon for a mental health check-up at a court house three minutes' drive away.
However, the alleged love birds switched to a brown Ford Edge and hit the road. An arrest warrant was issued for Vicky, as well as a $10,000 (£8,000) reward for any tip offs.
