A handwritten letter from Princess Diana to Martin Bashir has been made public for the first time following an investigation into how the BBC journalist obtained the now infamous Panorama interview with the royal.

Today the BBC issued a 'full and unconditional' apology after an independent inquiry found that Bashir had commissioned fake bank statements to deceive Earl Spencer and secure a sit-down chat with his sister Diana, A note sent from Diana to Bashir was published as part of the findings, with the late Princess admitting she had 'no regrets' about discussing her personal life in front of cameras.
