Prince William, Prince of Wales said that memories of walking behind his mother Princess Diana‘s coffin resurfaced as he did the same for his grandmother Queen Elizabeth.
The Queen passed away at the age of 96, and the royal family has been honoring her memory ever since. Plans for the Queen’s death, called Operation London Bridge, entailed a procession behind her coffin. Prince William partook in that and walked alongside his brother Prince Harry.
He told a mourner that doing so “brought back memories,” according to royal reporter Roya Nikkhah. Click inside to read more… “He said how difficult it was yesterday and how it reminded him of his mum’s funeral,” a mourner told The Telegraph.
Another added that Prince William warned them that he would cry if they started. “Catherine [Princess of Wales] said it’s just been such a difficult time for all of them, for the whole family,” the first source said. Princess Diana passed away in 1997 when Prince William was 15 and Prince Harry was 12.
