When Prince Charles and Camilla tied the knot 15 years ago they took the unusual step of banning wedding presents. It was claimed this 'rule' was imposed due to the overwhelming number of unwanted gifts the Prince received after his nuptials to Princess Diana in 1981.
Among the items the couple received was a pair of pink and blue toothbrushes. And they reportedly had no choice but to burn or give away some of the more bizarre presents.
Diana’s former butler Paul Burrell previously revealed how some of the wedding gifts were handed to royal servants. So before Charles' wedding on April 9, 2005, to a then-Camilla Parker Bowles, he was eager not to be faced with the same conundrum.
