Popular gin producer reveals plans to become Kintyre's newest whisky distillery
dailyrecord.co.ukgin producers has just unveiled new expansion plans that could soon make it the area's fourth whisky distillery.Exciting developments are afoot at the home of Kintyre Gin, the Beinn an Tuirc Distillery on Torrisdale Estate, which is located on the east coast of Kintyre.Looking to expand on their popular gin offering the owners of the small distillery, which operates using green energy from their own hydro-electric scheme, are adding to their existing plans to expand their site with a new licensed café and spirit school.Plans are now underway to bring whisky production to Torrisdale.The area is located on the border of what is considered to be one of Scotland's five key whisky regions, Campbeltown, which is named for the town which was once.
