Hundreds of people have since left messages of support for his family and shared stories of working alongside him.On Wednesday dozens of people watched as his coffin was led on its final journey from his home in Slag Lane to St Thomas' Church in Golbourne.The procession was led by a group of colleagues who formed a guard of honour to their lost friend.In a post on GMP's Leigh, Atherton and Hindley Facebook page, an officer wrote: "Today we said goodbye to a friend and colleague Dave Ratcliffe."As I walked behind him on his last journey, surrounded by his family and friends, I had a tear in my eye as I passed people paying.
