ITV reportedly entered talks to reboot popular noughties singing competition Pop Idol in 2023.TV Zone and Super TV have reported that ITV have expressed an interest in the format of the show, and recently they allegedly entered talks for a special reboot with a group of executives.Original creator Simon Fuller was reportedly involved in the talks with ITV.Reports say that a TV special could potentially air in the autumn of 2023, which will commemorate 20 years since it was last on our screens.Last month ITV told Daily Star that "absolutely nothing is confirmed" but added that "it would be unlikely to return as a full series" – which still gives fans hope for an epic spin-off.Pop Idol was created by Simon Fuller and fronted by Ant & Dec on ITV from 2001 to 2003.The judging panel was headed up by Neil Fox, Nicki Chapman, Pete Waterman and Simon Cowell, and all four judges featured on the 46 episodes that were broadcast over the two series' that were aired.For more of the latest showbiz and TV news from the Daily Star, make sure you sign up for one of our newsletters here..
