The police watchdog has found that although prime minister Boris Johnson may have had an 'intimate relationship' with businesswoman Jennifer Arcuri during his time as London mayor, there are no grounds for a criminal investigation.
The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) has published a report in relation to Operation Lansdowne - which was tasked with deciding whether Mr Johnson should face an investigation for misconduct in public office over his links with Ms Arcuri.
The report found that there was “some evidence that Mr Johnson and Ms Arcuri may have been in an intimate relationship”. But the report found “no evidence” that Mr Johnson influenced the payment of sponsorship monies to Ms Arcuri or her firms.
