Police have fallen foul of coronavirus safety measures during a "clap for carers" tribute event in Fife. The officers had joined the crowds gathered outside Victoria Hospital last night in solidarity with NHS staff and frontline workers but were later informally reprimanded over "breaches" of social distancing rules, reports.
At the gathering, dozens of officers failed to maintain the distance required to stop the deadly bug from spreading. The Local Area Commander for Central Division, Fife, Chief Inspector Tom Brown says there were breaches of social distancing and advice was given to those taking part.
