A man has been arrested after a police officer was punched to the side of the head whilst trying to break up a fight between two women.
Officers were called to reports of two drunk females fighting in the street on Monday afternoon in north Manchester. As the two police officers responded to the incident, they were approached by a man who became aggressive towards them.
The man proceeded to punch one officer to the side of the head, and then pulled the hair of another officer. The officers detained the man and he was arrested for two counts of assaulting a police officer.
As they were searching him, the male was found to be in possession of a white powder. He has been taken into custody for questioning.
