A police officer was "seriously assaulted" while on duty following a car chase in London on Wednesday night. The alleged suspect fled the scene, with police launching a hunt for him.
The incident took place at around 7.12pm after officers were in pursuit of a suspect vehicle in Dartmouth Road, West Hendon.
Met Police reports that thankfully the officer's injuries are not thought to be life threatening. Eye witnesses reported "at least a dozen police cars, an ambulance and a helicopter" as police hunted for the alleged suspect.
Another person tweeted: "I dunno what’s happening at West Hendon but it’s a madness." Other people shared footage online of the scene following the incident.
