An undercover police officer earned the trust of a manslaughter suspect by pretending to be a killer himself haunted by the 'angel of death'.
Garry Rogers was one of six full time undercover officers with Omega who worked out of Prestwich Police Station. Over the course of five years he put his life on the line numerous times as a key member of an elite team who were seen as the last resort when conventional police investigations had failed, Manchester Evening News reported.
Now the former Salford Grammar School lad has written a book, detailing his time undercover amongst some of the UK's toughest criminals.
