A police officer saved a person from drowning after they were seen 'floating away' in the River Mersey. Emergency services received a distress call from a passerby just after midnight on Friday night (October 8) after someone was spotted floating in the river.
The passerby had already thrown a life ring in the water but called the police when the person couldn't grab it, the ECHO reports.
