his considered approach to off-duty dressing, in Everlane sweaters and collegiate hoodies, and in more professional settings he’s a fan of lean, nipped-in tailoring, sleek shirts and a degree of grooming.There’s nothing revolutionary there – he’s not going to break any menswear boundaries – but it does go to show that a certain degree of consideration, particularly in contrast to his boss’s approach, goes a long way.
Take his suits for example. Sunak’s been known to have them custom-made by tailor Henry Herbert. They look classic and appropriate, but the real smart move is in the fit – a degree of thought’s gone into the proportions to make them work for his diminutive, slender 5ft6 frame.
The jacket is nipped at the waist and the shoulders appear to be roped, which serves to broaden his slight shoulders. The lapel’s important in this respect; Sunak opts for a thin one to elongate his small frame, with a low “drop” on the jacket meaning the buttons are lower, serving to elongate the torso.
While Twitter has chattered about his trousers being a touch too short, at least they’re lean and tailoredSunak always pays attention to his shirts.
